TCC Names Dr. Brad McKechnie as New Interim President

PASADENA, Texas - Texas Chiropractic College (TCC) announced Dr. Brad McKechnie, D.C., DACAN as the College’s Interim President effective Monday, April 14, 2014.

Dr. McKechnie’s appointment comes on the heels of an announcement by Dr. R. Fred Zuker, Ph.D. that he would step down as the College’s interim president for health reasons, a position he held for seven months.

As Interim President, Dr. McKechnie will oversee the day-to-day operations of the College. After graduating from TCC in 1985, he served as a faculty member from 1986 to 1996 including various administrative roles as the Dean of Postgraduate Studies and Dean of External Affairs.

“I am excited to be a part of TCC’s future,” said Dr. McKechnie. “Texas Chiropractic College has some of the best students, staff and faculty in chiropractic education and I look forward to working with them every day.”

Texas Chiropractic College renews academic partnership with Lee College

PASADENA, Texas - Texas Chiropractic College (TCC) renewed an articulation agreement with Lee College Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014 to ensure students can continue to easily enroll in the TCC Doctor of Chiropractic program. Presidents from both institutions met at the Lee College campus to re-sign the agreement, which was initially endorsed in fall 2010.  The arrangement allows Lee students who earn 90 undergraduate credit hours, maintain a minimum grade point average in specific science prerequisites and meet TCC requirements to automatically qualify for admission.

Anatomical Dissection for the Massage Therapist

This is an observational dissection experience of the human body. Dr. Robert Routh and Dr. Patricia Moore will be directing the dissections and teaching the participants anatomy as each section of the human body is unveiled. The students will see the layers of the human body and experience its beautiful architecture. There will also be other cadavers that have been previously dissected, to allow additional specimens to observe.

There will be no more than 8 participants per cadaver. There will additionally be classroom lectures to discuss the structures that are being studied. This will be a life-changing opportunity that you will never forget, and that will change the way you practice your healing art.

campusmap houstonmapTexas Chiropractic College is located at 5912 Spencer Highway in Pasadena, Texas, just east of Beltway 8.

From I-10 West or Downtown Houston

1. Take I-45 (the Gulf Freeway) southbound, toward Galveston.

2. Proceed to the Sam Houston Tollway (also Beltway 8); stay in the right two lanes and prepare to exit just past the Fuqua/Beltway 8 Exit. Follow the signs for Sam Houston Tollway East.

3. Once on the tollway, you can opt to take the marked free exit (Genoa Red Bluff) and proceed northbound via the access road (Beltway 8) approximately four miles to Spencer Highway; or remain on the Sam Houston Tollway and pay a toll.

4. Proceed to the Spencer Highway Exit and turn right at the traffic light. Proceed approximately 1/4 mile, and look for the large Texas Chiropractic College sign on the right.

5. Turn right on Dedman Street onto campus then left into the visitors’ parking area next to the Harris Building (the Admissions Office is located the ground floor).

From Highway 290 (College Station & Austin)

1. Arriving to the Houston area from Austin and the northwest on U.S. Highway 290, proceed to North Loop 610 and follow the signs to go east.

2. Travel east on 610 to I-45 South and toward downtown.

3. Take I-45 (the Gulf Freeway) southbound, toward Galveston.

4. Proceed to the Sam Houston Tollway (also Beltway 8); stay in the right two lanes and prepare to exit just past the Fuqua/Beltway 8 Exit. Follow the signs for Sam Houston Tollway East.

2. Proceed south for approximately seven miles to the Spencer Highway Exit.

3. Turn left at the traffic light. Proceed approximately 1/4 mile, and look for the large Texas Chiropractic College sign on the right.

4. Turn right on Dedman Street onto campus then left into the visitors’ parking area next to the Harris Building (the Admissions Office is located the ground floor).
