PASADENA, Texas - Texas Chiropractic College (TCC) announced Dr. Brad McKechnie, D.C., DACAN as the College’s Interim President effective Monday, April 14, 2014.
Dr. McKechnie’s appointment comes on the heels of an announcement by Dr. R. Fred Zuker, Ph.D. that he would step down as the College’s interim president for health reasons, a position he held for seven months.
As Interim President, Dr. McKechnie will oversee the day-to-day operations of the College. After graduating from TCC in 1985, he served as a faculty member from 1986 to 1996 including various administrative roles as the Dean of Postgraduate Studies and Dean of External Affairs.
“I am excited to be a part of TCC’s future,” said Dr. McKechnie. “Texas Chiropractic College has some of the best students, staff and faculty in chiropractic education and I look forward to working with them every day.”
PASADENA, Texas - Texas Chiropractic College (TCC) renewed an articulation agreement with Lee College Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014 to ensure students can continue to easily enroll in the TCC Doctor of Chiropractic program. Presidents from both institutions met at the Lee College campus to re-sign the agreement, which was initially endorsed in fall 2010. The arrangement allows Lee students who earn 90 undergraduate credit hours, maintain a minimum grade point average in specific science prerequisites and meet TCC requirements to automatically qualify for admission.
PASADENA, Texas - Dr. Michael Ramcharan was named the Texas Chiropractic College Faculty Member of the Year on Aug. 21 as part of the Deer Park Chamber of Commerce Salute to Education. TCC Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Steve Foster presented the award to Dr. Ramcharan as part of the celebration in which the Deer Park Independent School District and San Jacinto College Central honored their top instructors as well.
“I thank Dr. Ramcharan for having such a positive impact on the educational experiences of our students and the tremendous job he has already done in his two years at TCC,” said Dr. Foster.
Dr. Ramcharan has been a member of the Texas Chiropractic College faculty since May 2011, teaching in the department of clinical reasoning and therapeutics. He is also the Assistant Dean, Division of Technique, Principles and Therapeutics and is an active researcher in the areas of public health policy, infection and cultural competency.
“Dr. Ramcharan is an excellent teacher because he genuinely cares about students.
