IMPORTANT: TCC Curricular Changes


Current students at Texas Chiropractic College should make note of upcoming changes in the College's curriculum which are resulting in a redistribution of class and lab hours required in some courses.

The following list of notifications was provided by the Office of the Registrar on July 2, 2010. Please direct questions about these changes to the Office of the Registrar in the Harris Administration Building, 281-998-6014.

NOTICE: Summer 2010 is the last time Histology AN-1542 will be offered as a 5 credit (4 lecture, 2 lab hours) course.  Due to curricular changes, the course is dropping one lab hour starting Fall 2010.  Should you fail Histology in the Summer, you will be enrolled in the newly adapted 4.5 credit course, Histology AN-1441 (4 lecture, 1 lab hour).

NOTICE: Summer 2010 is the last time Human Neuroanatomy AN-3542 will be offered as a 5 credit (4 lecture, 2 lab hours) course.  Due to curricular changes, the course is dropping one lab hour starting Fall 2010.  Should you fail Human Neuroanatomy in the Summer, you will be enrolled in the newly adapted 4.5 credit course, Human Neuroanatomy AN-3441 (4 lecture, 1 lab hour).

NOTICE: Summer 2010 is the last time Human Biochemistry CM-1660 will be offered as a 6 credit (6 lecture hours) course.  Due to curricular changes, the course is dropping one lecture hour starting Fall 2010.  Should you fail Human Biochemistry in the Summer, you will be enrolled in the newly adapted 5 credit course, Human Biochemistry CM-1550 (5 lecture hours).

NOTICE: Summer 2010 is the last time General Microbiology MB-2323 will be offered as a 3.5 credit (2 lecture, 3 lab hours) course.  Due to curricular changes, starting Fall 2010, General Microbiology lecture will be combined with Immunology, and the laboratory portion of the course will be dropped.  Should you fail General Microbiology in the Summer, you will be enrolled in the newly adapted combination course (3 credit, 3 lecture hours), MB-2330.

NOTICE: Summer 2010 is the last time Immunology MB-2220 will be offered as a “stand alone” 2 credit (2 lecture hours) course.  Starting Fall 2010, due to curricular changes, the course will be combined with General Microbiology.  Should you fail Immunology in the Summer, you will be enrolled in the newly adapted 3 credit (3 lecture hours) combination course, MB-2330.

NOTICE: Summer 2010 is the last time General Pathology PA-3652 will be offered as a 6 credit (5 lecture, 2 lab hours) course.  Due to curricular changes, the course is dropping two lab hours and one lecture hour starting Fall 2010.  Should you fail General Pathology in the Summer, you will be enrolled in the newly adapted 4 credit (4 lecture hours) course, PA-2440. The newly adapted course (PA-2440) will be taught concurrently in both TR-2 and TR-3 in Fall 2010. In Spring 2011, the course (PA-2440) will be moved exclusively into TR-2.

NOTICE: Summer 2010 is the last time Systems Pathology I PA-4652 will be offered as a 6 credit (5 lecture, 2 lab hours) course.  Due to curricular changes, the course is dropping two lab hours and one lecture hour starting Fall 2010.  Should you fail Systems Pathology I in the Summer, you will be enrolled in the newly adapted 4 credit (4 lecture hours) course, PA-3440. The newly adapted course (PA-3440) will be taught in TR-4 in Fall 2010, and will be taught concurrently in both TR-3 and TR-4 in Spring 2011. In Summer 2011, the course (PA-3440) will be moved exclusively into TR-3.

NOTICE: Summer 2010 is the last time Cellular/CV/Muscle Physiology PH-2542 will be offered as a 5 credit (4 lecture, 2 lab hours) course.  Due to curricular changes, starting Fall 2010, the course will be expanded to include Cellular/CV/Muscle/Respiratory physiology.  Should you fail Cellular/CV/Muscle Physiology PH-2542 in the Summer, you will be enrolled in the newly adapted 6 credit (5 lecture hour, 2 lab hours) combination course, PH-2652.

NOTICE: Fall 2010 is the last time that Endocrine and Neurophysiology PH-3542 will be offered as a 5 credit (4 lecture, 2 lab hour) course. Due to curricular changes, starting Spring 2011, the current three physiology courses will be merged into two courses in trimesters 2 and 3. Should you fail Endocrine and Neurophysiology in Fall 2010, you will be enrolled in the newly adapted 6.5 credit (5 lecture, 3 lab hours) Endocrine/Neuro/Renal/GE/GU physiology course PH-3653 and well as a transition course in respiratory physiology. This will ensure that you are exposed to all required material in the physiology curriculum.

NOTICE: Fall 2010 is the last time Physics Principles of Diagnostic Imaging DI-3220 will be offered concurrently in Trimester 3 and Trimester 6. Should you fail Physics Principles of Diagnostic Imaging in Fall 2010, you will be enrolled in Physics Principles of Diagnostic Imaging as scheduled for the Trimester 3 students.

NOTICE: Spring 2011 is the last time that Renal/Respiratory/GE Physiology PH-4542 will be offered. Due to curricular changes, starting Spring 2011, the current three physiology courses will be merged into two courses in trimesters 2 and 3. Should you fail Renal/Respiratory/GE Physiology in Spring 2011, you will be enrolled in the newly adapted 6.5 credit (5 lecture, 3 lab hours) Endocrine/Neuro/Renal/ GE/GU physiology course PH-3653 and well as a transition course in respiratory physiology. This will ensure that you are exposed to all required material in the physiology curriculum.
