 A note from Dr. Brassard: Remembering Dr. Bob Glaze
On behalf of Texas Chiropractic College, I would like to extend our condolences to the family of the Honorable Dr. Bob Glaze. Dr. Glaze was an alumnus of Texas Chiropractic College, past president of the Texas Chiropractic Association and a former member of the Texas House of Representatives. He was a good friend and a good man.
His children ask “In lieu of flowers or other funeral remembrances please go to someone you care for and tell them that Dr. Bob told you to do something nice for them. Dad would like that.”

Visitors from University of Quebec Research at TCC
TCC faculty member Shari Wynd, D.C., Ph.D. (right) was joined by researchers (l-r) Claude Dugas, Ph.D., Marie-Pierre Harvey and Martin Descarreaux, D.C., Ph.D. from the University of Quebec at Three Rivers in June at TCC's Assessment Center. The objectives of the research project are to quantify and compare the spinal manipulation biomechanical parameters of two groups of chiropractic students, and evaluate how feedback and active practice during learning contribute to improved motor performances. Participating TCC students executed a set of spinal manipulation on a mannequin outfitted with equipment that quantifies various force measurements applied by each subject.
Congratulations to Dr. Tim Lee
 Congratulations to Dr. Tim Lee, TCC faculty member and MHC attending clinician, for being selected to participate in the volunteer program of Team U.S.A.'s sports medicine clinic. Dr. Lee is going to be at the olympic training center in Chula Vista, Calif. from June 28- July 12 working with the U.S. Olympic Committee's full-time medical staff to prepare athletes for the games. Good Job Dr. Lee!
TCC's Moody Health Center Hosts Open House on Headaches & Treatment Options
Texas Chiropractic College's Moody Health Center is hosting an open house on Wednesday, June 30, 2-6 p.m., to discuss headaches and treatment options.
Members of the public are welcome to stop by the MHC at 5912 Spencer Highway in Pasadena. The clinic's attending doctors of chiropractic and student interns will discuss the various types of headaches people commonly suffer, as well as treatment options available for adults and children. Refreshments and prizes will be available to members of the public.

Kinesiology Students Visit TCC
Associate professor in UH's health and human performance department, Dr. Joel Bloom, brought his class to TCC June 18. The students were able to get hands on experience in TCC's anatomy lab.
Attention Students: Homecoming Volunteers Needed
The postgraduate & continuing education department is seeking 29 volunteers to help with attendance check in/out at the 2010 Homecoming Convention at Moody Gardens July 15-17, 2010. Each volunteer will receive two beach party tickets for Thursday night at Moody Gardens' Palm Beach. There are some great perks in this so hurry and sign up today. Mixed Schedule Students Take Notice of Final Examinations Procedures
Final exams will be held Tuesday, August 10th - Tuesday, August 17th. The final exam schedule is now available in the registrar's office. Mixed schedule students need to look at the exam schedule and see if they have two exams scheduled at the same time. If there are exam overlaps, the mixed schedule students must advise the registrar's office by noon on Monday, August 2nd.
Wednesday, August 18th will be utilized to allow mixed schedule students to take any overlapping finals. A full two hours will be set aside for affected students at 9:00 a.m. in L-203. Only those students with more than one makeup exam to take on that Wednesday will be allotted time beyond the 9:00-11:00 time frame.
The procedure will allow mixed schedule students a full two hours for each of their final exams and avoid the necessity of receiving an incomplete grade due to scheduling conflicts.
