Having arrived at TCC in April 2010, Dr. Clay McDonald is responsible
for the day to day operations of the College under the policy and
direction of the President as well as
provides leadership in all areas including academic, business and
administrative. Dr. McDonald comes to TCC from Palmer College of
Chiropractic where he was the Assistant Chancellor / Vice Chancellor for
Strategic Development and Chief Compliance Officer. In addition to his
work at Palmer, he is also a board
member of the Council on Chiropractic Education, and recently completed a
two-year term as its vice president.
Dr. McDonald received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan
College of Chiropractic in 1982, his Master’s of Business Administration
from St. Ambrose University in 1997, and his law degree from Valparaiso
University in 2001. He also holds a Diplomate in Chiropractic
Rehabilitation, is a founding member of the ACA’s Council on
Chiropractic Rehabilitation, and is a past president of the Council. He
additionally holds certificates in Alternative Dispute Resolution and
Healthcare and Elder Law.
Prior to his stint at Palmer, Dr. McDonald served as the Dean of
Chiropractic, and then Executive Vice President of New York Chiropractic
College from 2001 to 2006. Before working at NYCC, he was a faculty
member and administrator at Palmer from 1990 to 1999. He began his
chiropractic career in 1982 when he went in to private practice and was a
co-owner of a multi-disciplinary rehabilitation clinic in Eureka,
Montana until 1990.
