Scholarships

Scholarships are made available by a variety of sources, each with its own criteria and deadline. Some scholarships may only be available when funding for a particular year has been provided. Notices for scholarship availability and deadline information appear in the BACKPAGE, the college's weekly newsletter, when they are announced. 

Additionally, there are numerous national scholarships available throughout the year. Please contact the Office of Institutional Advancement at 281-998-6060 for the most up to date listings. 

Pathway To Excellence Scholarship Program

The Pathway to Excellence Scholarship is TCC’s most prestigious award to incoming students.  The Program is offered to entering students and begins with the fall trimester of 2010.  Recipients must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above in order to be eligible.

Students who meet the criteria will be awarded $2,000 per trimester for a total of $20,000 over the course of their ten trimester career at TCC.  PTE recipients will maintain their award if they achieve a 3.25 grade point average at the end of their third trimester.  This means that scholars are guaranteed $6,000 awards.  After the third trimester recipients must continuously maintain a 3.25 minimum grade point average throughout the remainder of the ten trimester course of study. All entering students with a minimum 3.5 gpa will receive the initial scholarship award.

Rhoden Calder Scholarship
Amount: $1000, Number: 1 per Fall, Spring & Summer Trimester
RQ: Trimester 4-10, 2.75GPA.  1 page essay demonstrating financial need/merit.

C. Mathews Scholarship
Amount: $1000, Number: 1 per Fall, Spring & Summer Trimester
RQ: Trimester 4-10, 3.25 GPA.  1 page essay demonstrating financial need/merit.

TCC General Scholarship
Amount: $1000, Number: 1 per Spring, Summer & Fall Trimester
RQ: Trimester 3-10, 3.25 GPA.  1 page essay demonstrating merit.

Barbara Brassard Scholarship
Amount: $1000, Number: 1 per Fall & Spring Trimester only
RQ: Trimester 2-10, 2.50 GPA.  1 page essay demonstrating financial need/merit.

B. Vohringer Scholarship
Amount: $1000, Number: 1 per Fall & Spring Trimester only
RQ: Trimester 4-10, 2.75 GPA.  1 page essay demonstrating financial need/merit.

E.F. Steele Scholarship
Amount: $1000, Number: 1 per Fall Trimester only
RQ: Trimester 4-10, 2.75 GPA.  1 page essay demonstrating financial need/merit.

Urban Terbieten Scholarship
Amount: $1000, Number: 1 per Fall Trimester only
RQ: Trimester 2-10, 2.75 GPA.  1 page essay demonstrating financial need/merit.

Loretta Mohle Scholarship
Amount: $1000, Number: 1 per Fall Trimester only
RQ: Trimester 1-10, 3.50 GPA.  1 page essay demonstrating financial need/merit.

Elliott/Lindner Research Scholarship
Amount: $1000, Number: 1 per Fall & Spring Trimester only
