PASADENA, Texas - Texas Chiropractic College (TCC) renewed an articulation agreement with Lee College Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014 to ensure students can continue to easily enroll in the TCC Doctor of Chiropractic program.
Presidents from both institutions met at the Lee College campus to re-sign the agreement, which was initially endorsed in fall 2010. The arrangement allows Lee students who earn 90 undergraduate credit hours, maintain a minimum grade point average in specific science prerequisites and meet TCC requirements to automatically qualify for admission.
"One of our goals at TCC is to build academic partnerships that are mutually beneficial to the institutions in our community,” said Dr. Fred Zuker, TCC Interim President. “We are thrilled to re-establish and strengthen this agreement with our friends at Lee College.”
Located in Pasadena, TCC is the fourth oldest chiropractic college in the United States and is today recognized as a leader in chiropractic education. The college’s Moody Health Center provides health services to the public, and is a model integrative healthcare facility featuring traditional chiropractic are, family practice by medical doctors, acupuncture and massage.
Lee students who enroll in the Doctor of Chiropractic program at TCC are also able to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in human biology while working toward their doctorate.
“Lee College is committed to providing students every opportunity to be successful in their chosen careers,” said President Dr. Dennis Brown. “We are very excited to re-affirm this partnership and look forward to having those of our students who are interested in chiropractic studies become a part of the TCC family.”
TCC now maintains 14 academic partnerships with both four year universities and two year community colleges, including two dual-degree programs with the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
