Boots & Spurs Gala

Mark Chesnutt to headline Gala 2008 Entertainment

Texas Chiropractic College is thrilled to announce that country music star Mark Chesnutt will be the featured entertainment at its 17th Annual Boots & Spurs Gala to be held on Saturday, February 16, 2008, at the Westin Oaks Hotel, which is connected to the Galleria Shopping Center in “uptown” Houston. The gala will be the college’s first major event of 2008 in celebration of Texas Chiropractic College’s centennial year.
Loved by fans all over the world, Mark Chesnutt has been singing his brand of country music almost all of his life. Son of Bob Chesnutt, a singer, record collector and major fan of classic country music, Mark got his start in the honky-tonks of Beaumont, TX. In 1989, he was signed to MCA Nashville. With the release of his first single “Too Cold At Home,” Mark established himself as one of country’s most authentic and talented vocalists.
The bio of this remarkable singer, which can be found on his web site at www.markchesnutt.com, reveals much about the man. In part it says, “‘Fans,’ he confides, ‘are the reason for my success.’ His fans helped his records to climb the charts one right after the other making him one of Billboard’s Ten Most-Played Radio Artists of the ‘90’s. Mark’s singles were some the decade’s most memorable; from the fun tempo ‘Bubba Shot the Jukebox’ to emotional ballad ‘I’ll Think Of Something.’ Mark is easily identified for his string of hits including ‘Brother Jukebox,’ ‘Blame It On Texas,’ ‘Old Flames Have New Names,’ ‘Old Country,’ ‘It Sure Is Monday,’  ‘Almost Goodbye,’ ‘I Just Wanted You To Know,’ ‘Going Through The Big D,’ ‘It’s A Little Too Late,’ ‘Gonna Get A Life,’ and one of his biggest, ‘I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing,’ a song that held its position at the top of the charts for four consecutive weeks.”
Although Mark’s recordings have made him a country star, he admits that his first love is to perform on stage. One glance at his tour schedule tells you that he gets to do what he loves a lot.
More information about the gala will be mailed out in plenty of time to make reservations for this one-of-a-kind event. The Westin ballroom has limited space; therefore, only 500 seats will be available for a fabulous dinner and an “up close and personal” evening with Mark Chesnutt. This is one gala you don’t want to miss!
