TCC, Lee College Sign Transfer Agreement
8/18/2010 -
PASADENA, Texas - Texas Chiropractic College signed an articulation agreement with Lee College to help their students easily enroll in the Doctor of Chiropractic Program.
As a result of the agreement, Lee College students who earn 90 undergraduate credit hours and maintain a minimum grade point average in specific science prerequisites and who also meet the requirements of TCC and CCE will automatically qualify for admission.
TCC President Dr. Richard G. Brassard noted that “we have signed agreements with many area colleges and universities, and Lee College is an important part of that community. We are working hard to produce the best quality chiropractic professionals.”
Of the 90 hours of undergraduate credit required for admission at TCC, students can acquire credits from another accredited university for transfer as long as the minimum grade point average is met. Lee students enrolling in the DC program are also able to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in human biology while they work toward their DC degree.
“What we really like is that this agreement expands the healthcare opportunities for our students. You can get a good start with us at Lee and then pursue your career ambitions with TCC,” President of Lee College Dr. Michael Murphy said. “We have a very strong science curriculum and it will be nice for our faculty to see their students continue on to TCC in a seamless way. It’s going to be great to for students who choose to become doctors of chiropractic.”
In addition to completing various prerequisite courses, applicants for the TCC program must demonstrate a commitment to the study of chiropractic care and maintain ethical and moral standards required for the profession.
Students desiring to pursue a Doctor of Chiropractic degree at TCC are also advised to file for admission at least one year prior to their planned entrance into the program.
