TCC Announces partnership with Dell Computers

Good news for faculty, staff, and both current and prospective students.  TCC has started a Computer Initiative with Dell Computers.  You may now purchase Dell desktops, laptops and other peripherals at a discount directly through Dell.

TCC System Requirements:

Students should note when buying a computer it should have the following items in order to be compliant with TCC's network and computer labs.

• Windows XP Professional
• Windows Office XP Professional  (do NOT get Works)
• Memory - 512mb (minimum)
• Floppy drive or a USB Flash drive (in order to utilize the lab printers)

• Suggest a CD or DVD player or burner

TCC now has network and/or wireless access for student laptops. You will need any compliant 802.11b/g wireless network adaptor to connect.
The following buildings have access:

Library has both hard wire and wireless available.
Moody Health Center Workrooms have hard wire access only. 
Russell has hard wire access in the cafeteria only.

Future plans include wireless in Russell Classrooms and Cafeteria, LRC 2nd floor classrooms.
NOTE:   For security reasons, students may not attach any equipment to the TCC network except in places designated for such use.
