SUMMARY:Fall 2024 Cohort - 100hr Acupuncture Certification Program Live Weekend
DESCRIPTION:The 100hr Acupuncture Certification Program fulfills the required coursework to apply for the National Board of Chiropractic Examiner’s (NBCE) Acupuncture Board Exam. \nDoctors who complete this program are well prepared to safely provide acupuncture and related techniques to effectively address most musculoskeletal and neurological complaints\, as well as many internal disorders commonly seen in chiropractic practice. This is a comprehensive\, sequenced\, and succinct program\, wherein clinical theories and techniques are followed by musculoskeletal disorders and metabolic disorders ranging from digestive to women’s health concerns.  Learning methods include lecture\, slide presentation\, video demonstration and when possible\, supervised hands-on instruction & technique practice. \n  \nClinical training includes clean & safe needle handling & techniques\, point location\, and application of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) diagnostic frameworks. This program also includes contemporary neurological and physiological perspectives on acupuncture’s mechanisms of action\,  contemporary treatment styles\, the release of trigger points and myofascial stress patterns\, and best practices for integration into a chiropractic practice\, as well as practical instruction in moxibustion\, cupping\, gua-sha\, cold laser and  electro-acupuncture. \n  \nThe curriculum is organized into 4 broad categories \n\nClinical Fundamentals: Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and contemporary Western bio-medical theories of acupuncture\, with a focus on those theories that have a strong clinical application\nPoints & Meridians: Acupuncture Points and Meridians\, Trigger Points\, & Motor Points focusing on those points that are particularly effective in practice\nClinical Techniques: Traditional acupuncture needling techniques\, contemporary “dry-needle” style treatment\, traditional & contemporary invasive and non-invasive acupuncture-related techniques\nAcupuncture Microsystems: Select points and techniques from Auriculotherapy\, Hand acupuncture\, Chinese and Japanese Scalp acupuncture\, the Ventresca Method\, and other distinct acupuncture systems\n\n  \n\nCourse Format:  This course is offered in hybrid format\, with a combination of self-paced online coursework combined with two live\, in-person weekends. **Attending both Module 2 and Module 5 in-person weekends is required for course completion.** \nCourse Schedule: Online coursework is open for enrollment with immediate access and the course progresses according to the following schedule: \nOngoing – Begin with Module 1 immediately upon registration\n**Module 1 coursework must be completed prior to attending the first live weekend course – Module 2 (including any quizzes)** \n2024 Spring Cohort Live Dates : \nApril 13-14\, 2024 – Module 2 In-Person Training Course at Texas Chiropractic College\n*all of Module 1 must be completed prior to attending (including any quizzes).** \nMay 18-19\, 2024 – Module 5 In-Person Final Training Course at Texas Chiropractic College\n*all of Modules 1-4 must be completed prior to attending (including any quizzes).** \n2024 Fall Cohort Live Dates:\nOctober 12-13\, 2024: Module 2 In-Person Training Course at Texas Chiropractic College\n*all of Module 1 must be completed prior to attending (including any quizzes).** \nNovember 16-17\, 2024: Module 5 In-Person Final Training Course at Texas Chiropractic College\n*all of Modules 1-4 must be completed prior to attending (including any quizzes).** \n  \n\n  \nEach In-Person Weekend Follows the same Agenda: \nSaturday 8am – 6pm (lunch from 12:30pm – 2pm)\nSunday 8am – 6pm (lunch from 12:30pm – 2pm) \n\nBoth In-Person Sessions are Hosted at the Address Below: \nTexas Chiropractic College\n5912 Spencer Hwy\nPasadena\, TX 77505
