Hands-on experience is integrated into our chiropractic program’s core coursework via TCC’s Assessment Center, a pioneering facility that features advanced technology for practicing your chiropractic technique. One of the first facilities of its kind at any chiropractic school, the Assessment Center lets you start hands-on training in your first trimester and serves as an ongoing resource throughout the Doctor of Chiropractic program.
Hands-on Learning Programs at Texas Chiropractic College
You’ll gain hands-on experience beginning in the first trimester of our Doctor of Chiropractic degree. TCC offers four major forms of experiential learning.
Clinical Internships
Clinical internships form the heart of Texas Chiropractic College’s hands-on training. Working in our community-serving Moody Health Center, you’ll get direct, supervised experience in:
- Taking patient histories
- Performing chiropractic adjustments
- Making physical, neurological, orthopedic, and clinical diagnoses
- Applying adjunctive therapy
- Consulting with fellow health professionals
- Documenting cases and reporting findings
Preceptorships
Texas Chiropractic College’s preceptorship program gives you the option to gain advanced professional training in a chiropractic office. You can complete three levels of preceptorship experience, taking on progressively greater levels of responsibility as you advance.
Interprofessional Experiences
TCC’s interprofessional experiences program offers outstanding hands-on training. You’ll work alongside medical students in health care disciplines such as neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, family medicine, and rheumatology, developing career-building relationships with peers in related health professions.
