Dear TCC Community,  

 

With December now underway, I have been spending some time reflecting on all that has taken place across our campus this fall. For me, and perhaps for many of you, December always brings a natural pause. It is a month that we can all look back on what we have accomplished together and appreciate the people who make TCC such a special community, including our upcoming graduates, whom I look forward to celebrating and honoring at tomorrow’s commencement ceremony. 

 

I want to take a moment to share some of those moments:  

 

Two Lunch & Learns 

On November 4, the Pediatric and Perinatal Club hosted a Lunch & Learn event with Dr. Alayna Pagnani. Dr. Pagnani provided students with insight into topics related to perinatal care, pediatrics, and family practice. These opportunities allow our students to deepen their clinical understanding while engaging with areas of practice that serve families and communities. Additionally, the Christian Club hosted a Lunch & Learn event on November 25 with Dr. Lewis Clark, who offered practical advice on building a purposeful and successful practice. 

 

Thanksgiving Luncheon 

In late November, we gathered for our annual Thanksgiving Luncheon. This was a perfect time for students, faculty, and staff to come together, share a meal, and take a moment of gratitude during a busy time of year. It was wonderful to pause for a moment, give thanks, and show appreciation to those around us. 

 

Faculty Highlights 

I am happy to share that two TCC research projects have been accepted for ACC-RAC platform presentations in March 2026. Congratulations to Drs. John Ward, Jesse Coats, and Osiel Peña for their dedication to projects that examine student perspectives and the impact of cervical spinal manipulation on balance. In addition, a paper authored by Dr. Shari Wynd and collaborators was recently published in the American Journal of Physiology. I am also excited to shared that Dr. Todd Riddle went to Spain and Portugal with USA gymnastics for Trampoline and Tumbling World Championships 2025. These accomplishments reflect the strong service and scholarship happening across our campus.  

 

Pasadena Christmas Parade 

This past weekend, TCC proudly represented our college within the community at the Pasadena Holiday Lights Parade. I am grateful to everyone who helped bring our Christmas float to life and for attending the parade. Activities like this strengthen our connection to the community and the impact we can all make together.    

 

Students Giving Back 

I want to recognize two students, Pablo Villanueva and Danny Jenkins, for creating gift baskets for our hardworking cleaning crew. Their generosity and initiative captured the heart of what makes our community at TCC so special. Small gestures like this often have a big impact and reflect the values we strive to uphold at TCC. Thank you, Pablo and Danny. 

 

As we wrap up the year, I want to thank each of you for the dedication, kindness, and hard work you bring to TCC every day. Our community continues to inspire me, and I’m grateful for all that we’ve accomplished together. I wish you and your loved ones a joyful, restful, and safe holiday season. I look forward to seeing you all in 2026.
