Dear TCC Community,
Summer is in full swing, and if you’re like me and prefer the cooler weather, these 90-degree days are definitely a lot to handle. Still, there is something about the summer that I look forward to every year. I hope you have had a chance to enjoy the outdoors, especially over the Fourth of July weekend.
June, like most months at TCC, was packed with meaningful moments, and I would like to share a few with you:
Campus Blood Drive
This past June, in partnership with the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center (GCRBC), TCC hosted yet another campus blood drive. The GCRBC was first established in 1975 and is the only blood provider to Houston and the surrounding communities. Thank you to everyone who took time to donate blood. You are making a difference!
Lunch & Learns
TCC’s commitment to development outside of the classroom was on full display June 11 with a double feature of Lunch & Learns.
The Christian Club welcomed Dr. Stephen Ford, who earned both his doctor of chiropractic and bachelor of science in human biology from TCC. We love it when our alumni return to share their insights!
The Pediatrics and Perinatal Club hosted Dr. Randi Blackmon Likely, who graduated summa cum laude from the University of Alabama in human performance and exercise science before earning her doctorate in chiropractic as class valedictorian from TCC in April 2022. Dr. B. Likely now runs her own practice, Backed by Blackmon, and is a shining example of excellence in chiropractic care.

TCC is honored to have been a part of the journey that helped to shape such distinguished professionals. Congratulations to each of you on these well-deserved accolades.
Technique Seminar
Experiential learning is a cornerstone of chiropractic education, and the technique seminar at TCC is a perfect example. These hands-on experiences are often free or low-cost to students, thanks to the generosity of doctors who donate their time, skills, and weekends to help train the next generation of chiropractors. Thank you do Dr. Todd Hui, Dr. Stacey Rodgers, Dr. Joe Blazio, Dr. Montgomery Stanley, Dr. Jake Price, and Dr. Brad Koby for making this year’s seminar a success. Your commitment to education and mentorship is truly appreciated.
Alumni in Action
The Texas Chiropractic Association (TCA) recently named Dr. Shawn McHone Committee Chair of the Year. Dr. Craig Benton was awarded the Bulldog Award from the American Chiropractic Association for his work on modernizing chiropractic care under Medicare.
We are so proud of our alumni for these well-deserved recognitions.
As always, thanks to each and every one of you for making the TCC community what it is. I wish all of you a productive and refreshing summer.
Best regards,
Sandra Hughes, D.C., M.Ed., FICC
President, Texas Chiropractic College
