Dear TCC Community,

Today marks the start of yet another trimester at Texas Chiropractic College. Whether you are a student, faculty/staff, or friend of the College, the start of a trimester is always an exciting time.

Recently, I attended an event where Pasadena’s Mayor, Thomas Schoenbein, stated, “It’s not that we did anything wrong in the past, but the future demands more.” Many others have expressed this same sentiment in different ways, and I couldn’t agree more.

Entering my third year as President of Texas Chiropractic College, this phrase feels especially relevant. When I began my tenure, I spoke about and commended the accomplishments of those who came before me—leaders, faculty, staff, alumni, and students—who built TCC into what it is today: a thriving institution with an extraordinary community. Since our founding in 1908, we have succeeded because of the vision, dedication, and resilience of those who have led us through every chapter. And yes, we have had our ups and downs, our ebbs and flows, but we have always emerged stronger.

You, whether student, colleague, alumni, or friend, are part of that legacy now, but also the ones shaping what comes next. This trimester, I encourage you to lean into the full experience. Students: seek support from your professors, collaborate with one another, and take advantage of every opportunity to grow academically and personally. Colleagues: challenge yourself to continue developing both inside and outside the classroom and bring fresh ideas to the work that each of you does every day to ensure our students’ success. Alumni and friends: stay connected, share your experiences, and support the next generation of chiropractors as they follow the path you helped pave.

Yes, I know that challenges will come, but I also know that you are not alone. You have a community here that believes in you and is committed to helping you succeed. Let’s make this trimester a great one. I look forward to seeing this fall trimester unfold.

Best regards,

Sandra Hughes, D.C., M.Ed., FICC
