Board of Regents Member Ken Cauthorn Awarded Honorary Degree
Ken Cauthorn’s legacy at TCC extends far beyond his 14 years of service as a Board of Regents member. He has been a constant presence in the chiropractic community, dedicating his time and resources to advancing the field and helping to shape the future of TCC.
In recognition of his contributions, Cauthorn received an honorary degree during this year’s graduation ceremony. The honor surprised Cauthorn, who was unaware that he was being considered for the award.
“I was truly caught off guard when they announced my name,” Cauthorn said. “It was a privilege to be awarded an honorary degree by Texas Chiropractic College. This is the ultimate recognition for 14 years of service as a member of the Board of Regents. I love this profession, I love this institution, and am proud to call myself an honorary alumnus of TCC.”
Cauthorn is not only a dedicated Board of Regents member at TCC, but also a successful entrepreneur. He is a co-owner of the Hampton Tax Group, where he has provided financial services to chiropractors for over 20 years. Cauthorn’s entrepreneurial spirit extends beyond his business ventures, as he spearheaded the board’s commitment to renovate an existing building and turn it into a recreational center for TCC students.
Cauthorn’s passion for education and financial literacy has also been a valuable resource for TCC students. He has presented sessions on Financial Literacy with regards to chiropractic entrepreneurship, sharing his expertise and insights with students who aspire to make a difference in their communities.
This year’s honorary degree is only the fourth to be awarded in the last 23 years, making it a rare and highly coveted honor. Candidates are carefully selected based on their lifetime contributions to the college and the chiropractic profession. The recipient is chosen through a collaborative effort between the Board and President of TCC.
The characteristics of recipients include long-term engagement with the chiropractic profession, high levels of engagement with the college, including service and contributions of time and resources, and a passion for the profession equal to chiropractors.
“TCC is proud to have Ken Cauthorn as a member of our community,” said President Foster. “His unwavering commitment to the chiropractic profession and his contributions to TCC have made a lasting impact on our institution and its students. We are honored to recognize his lifetime of service with this well-deserved honorary degree.”
Cauthorn’s contributions to the chiropractic profession and TCC have made a lasting impact, and his legacy will continue to inspire future generations of chiropractors. As he reflects on his years of service, Cauthorn remains committed to supporting TCC and the chiropractic community.
“I am deeply grateful for the opportunities I have had to serve the chiropractic profession,” he said. “It has been an incredible journey, and I am honored to have been a part of it. I will continue to support TCC and the chiropractic community in the years to come, and I look forward to seeing all the great things that are yet to come.”
Cauthorn’s lifetime of service to the chiropractic field serves as an inspiration to current and future generations of chiropractors.
